At New Jersey Motorsports Park-September 2010

If you missed this one, you missed a great one! LOTS of track time, excellent racing and beautiful weather. Great Thanks to the NJMP staff, flaggers/F&C folks, track workers, timing & scoring, registration, tech inspection, general volunteers and emergency service personnel. Great Job!

New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville is a great facilty with two neat tracks (plus karting!). Two thumbs up for NJ's excellent road course facilty.

There are A LOT of pictures in some of the links below. In some cases, your computer may "time out" and the last number of pictures will only appear as "red Xs". If that happens press the "F5" key on your keyboard (or use the "Refresh" button at the top of the screen). Depending on your connection speed, you may have to do this several times before all the pictures "load" onto this page. .

Note: I am sending this link out via the VRG Yahoo mailing list. If you know anyone who is not on that list, but would like to see this, please forward this link to them. Also, if you or anyone you know has Youtube In-Car Videos of the event, please send me the link to those videos and I'll be happy to include them below (with appropriate credit).

I actually ran seven sessions at this event. But at my last session, my 1500 cc engine let go (so I didn't bother to post a video for that session). You can see the results below (when's the last time you saw a four-cylinder engine with THREE pistons at TDC?). If you look closely at the last picture, you can see where the wrist pin punched a hole in the #4 bore. This engine has 60+ weekends on it with only mild refreshing (rod bearings and rings a few times) so it doesn't owe me anything. I had planned to retire the engine after the 2010 VRG Watkins Glen event (I'm building a new car and engine). I'm still hoping to make The Glen event: at the moment, I'm attempting to fit #909 with a well-used, stock single-carb 948cc engine that's been sitting in a shed for 20+ years......I just cleaned the spiderwebs out of the bores, so it should be fine! Haha!
